On October 18, 2006 at 14:30,
Viktor
Alekseenko from Baksan Neutrino Observatory, Institute for Nuclear Research, Russia
will give a seminar entitled:
“Measurement of Radon-due neutrons from terrestrial crust at
Baksan Neutrino Observatory”
Abstract:
A new
method, based on measurement of thermal neutron flux, to trace variations of
Radon concentration in terrestrial crust is discussed. For the first time the
experimental evidence of correlation between thermal neutron flux variations
and Moon periods (Radon-neutron tidal waves) was
obtained. The
connections of the outlined phenomena with local seismic activity, will be also
reviewed.
